Channel 4 loves everything to do with sex, webcam and anything remotely related to porn, which is handy because, so do we. If you saw Channel 4’s documentary ’How to Make It on OnlyFans’, you’ll know that the show focuses on the boom in British adult content creators who all make their living by selling spicy content.
I’m sure we don’t need to explain what OnlyFans is. It’s been around long enough and you’ve probably got a good handle on it by now. However, for those who have still yet to venture into the app, here is the gist; OnlyFans is a content subscription service where fans can pay for premium access to their chosen creators. Performers can upload anything such as food videos, fitness, lingerie, kink / fetish and XXX.
Whilst some people might actively seek out cooking tips from their favourite chef, let’s be honest here, 95% of the platform is made up sex workers selling topless and nude content. Some documentaries fall flat in this area but not this one…How to Make It … has really nailed it. It features Alex Sim-Wise, the lads’ mag glamour model, presenter on SumoTV, turned OnlyFans starlet. For those who don’t know about Sumo TV, find out here. Alex is not only a popular content creator herself but she also helps other budding stars and offers advice as to how to gain popularity on OnlyFans.
In the documentary we are introduced to Emily, a nervous student who is brand spanking new to the world of XXX. Emily is hoping to build her audience of just 7 subscribers into something she can actually make a living off of. Alex coaches Emily in how to take better pics and shows her the best angles so she can get the most erotic and alluring shots, the kind subscribers would want to pay for.
Lastly we meet Zoe, who is seriously considering diving into the world of feet worship and selling foot pics online. There’s only one issue though, Zoe doesn’t fully understand the world of kink. That’s where Alex and her expertise comes in. We see all people involved overcome their fears and embark on their spicy new career, a move they find incredibly liberating.
