‘Babestation Balloon’ was a quirky babeshow theme, isolated from the other live babeshows and trialed on Freeview CH 97 in the late Autumn of 2011. It only ran for a few shows and was never made an official addition, never appeared on the EPG as it’s own thing, it always stayed as ‘Babestation Blue’ the babe channel that showed it. And it was only referred to by the babes as ‘Babestation Balloon’ The trial was part of a series of new, themed shows that came in, culminating in the additions of Masti Nights, Dirty Wives, Babestation Apprentice and a brief trial for Sexstation.
Babestation’s looner themed show was unusual among these trial themed shows in that it retained the Babestation Blue graphics, while the others had clearly defined graphics of their own, ‘Babestation Balloons’ only difference was the mass of balloons that covered the set where the girls played among them. The second unique feature was the revival of the on-screen text chat concept, giving the audience the chance to request and interact with the girls, live through text messages and getting theme read out on air.
The show was obviously geared towards the fetish market and the majority of the text requests that came in were for the girls to burst the balloons, lick them, sit on them, rub them on themselves. Some memories of the balloon nights include Kandi Kay bursting balloons, Megan Moore blowing up a balloon while Megan Coxxx licked it and Tommie Jo driving the heels of her boots through some balloons. Not all the requests were balloon related, one memory is of Ree Petra, licking her own foot to satisfy a text request.
One of the most memorable aspects of the Babestation balloon show was the use of girls who would soon move on to Red Light Central or Xpanded or Studio 66 or one of the other babe channels at that time. Girls like Aimee Luis, Vanessa Walker, Ella Jolie and Kandi Kay would all move on to S66 or RLC soon after appearing on the balloon show.
Vanessa Walker was the most memorable balloon show babes. Formerly a dayshow babe, Vanessa didn’t start on nights until April 2011. Vanessa fit into the balloon show nicely due to the less ‘forced’ feel than the other shows like BS1 or BSXtra. This suited her better and allowed her personality to shine through more. Babestation balloon was a good, quirky and unpredictable variation on the standard babe channels Freeview alternatives like Playboy TV. It’s this unpredictability that put one in mind of the other great interactive shows like Party People and the original BS Xtra text in show.
