According to a study, the female orgasm can be experienced better and stronger if women take up running, especially long distance running.
Running has officially been proven to boost a female orgasm, as well as improving self-esteem and lets not forget about the strengthened pelvic muscles as a result of running. According to research published in the International Urogynecology Journal based on 180 volunteers who ran weekly, those who ran long distances were 28% more likely to experience a better climax that was a third more intense than a climax of a non running woman. How they measured the intensity of a woman’s orgasm, I don’t know but I’m intrigued to find out.

The study consisted of two groups – one group of women ran more than 12 miles each week and the other ran less than 12 miles. The women were also asked about their romantic relationships. Researcher Shanny Sade from Israel’s Ben-Gurion University said that “our study indicated ladies who ran the most reported more intense orgasms.”
It could also be that running attributed to improved clitoral circulation, improved pelvic floor function, improved self-esteem and body image, or a combination of all.
Phillip Hodson, a sex therapist, had this to say on the matter: “It seems that running is the ideal sex aid, especially for women.” This study comes shortly after researchers in New Jersey discovered that a woman’s need to orgasm in the bedroom is influenced by the phenomenon known as the “orgasm gap,” where men climax more frequently than women in heterosexual partnerships. The specialists conducted surveys of men and women in straight relationships to learn about their levels of sexual satisfaction, frequency of orgasms, and desire for orgasms.

When a woman orgasms more frequently in a relationship, both partners desire more orgasms. On the flip side, they discovered that women who climax less frequently during sex have less desire for an orgasm and less expectation of having one as well. But owing to the orgasm divide, women are more impacted than males by this drop in desire and expectation. Three researchers from the psychology department at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, carried out the investigation. Their report stated:
‘Our expectations are shaped by our experiences, so when women orgasm less, they will desire and expect to orgasm less. If women do lower their expectations in this way, the more orgasm inequality may perpetuate in relationships.’
One thing women should never do is lower their expectations. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off for a run.
