After more than a decade on Babestation nude cams, the iconic performer and model Valkyrie Awakens is taking on a challenge that probably wasn’t on anyone’s bingo card – the live cams starlet is training to become a psychosexual therapist.
The 41-year-old presenter has spent years chatting to viewers about everything from relationships to fantasies, and now she’s putting that experience alongside formal study to help people feel more comfortable talking about sex without shame. Speaking on the Option One Podcast, Valkyrie explained what inspired the career move.
“People can have so much shame around their kink… That’s why I want to do psychosexual stuff.”
It’s certainly not the direction most people would expect a Babestation presenter to take, but when you hear her explain it, it actually makes perfect sense.
“You Have to Be Part Therapist Anyway”
Anyone who’s worked in adult chat will tell you that the job isn’t just about looking good on camera. People open up. They talk about relationships, confidence, loneliness and fantasies they’d never tell anyone else. For many viewers, it’s the conversation that’s just as important as everything else.

Valkyrie says that’s something she’s experienced throughout her career.
“You have to kind of be able to be a therapist to do my job. I think a lot of people just want somebody they can talk to without feeling judged. Fantasy versus reality is really something that people don’t get.”
Of course, she’s not suggesting that years on Babestation replace professional qualifications. That’s exactly why she’s studying. Her goal is to combine formal training with everything she’s’s learned from talking to thousands of people over the years.
Breaking Down the Shame Around Sex
One thing Valkyrie is particularly passionate about is helping people feel less embarrassed about their fantasies. She believes far too many people carry unnecessary guilt over perfectly consensual interests, simply because they don’t feel comfortable talking about them. As she puts it:
“Trust is major and consent is key. It’s not rules, it’s boundaries. People shouldn’t feel embarrassed for having fantasies. The important thing is making sure everything is safe, consensual and respectful.”
It’s a message that’s becoming more common as conversations around sexual wellbeing continue to become more open.
More Than Just Entertainment
Featured in the Daily Star, Valkyrie says working as a live cam babe on Babestation completely changed the way she views sex and relationships. Years of speaking to people from all walks of life have shown her that most conversations aren’t really about sex at all. They’re about connection, trust and having someone who listens without making you feel judged. That’s something she now hopes to build on through her studies.
